After 37 years of dedicated service in the Five Points Denver community, our beloved Executive Director, Ms. Eddie Mae Woolfolk, has retired. Ms. Eddie, has devoted her life to serving others through compassion, faith, and community leadership. As Executive Director of the Community Outreach Service Center and founder of several outreach initiatives, she championed housing, employment, and support services for the homeless, justice-involved individuals, and families in need. Her vision helped establish New Charity’s House Apartments, a 36-unit affordable housing project providing stability and hope for those reentering society. Of all her achievements and honors, she remains most proud of being called to serve as a child of God.

In October, we celebrated Ms. Eddie and her husband, Pastor Emeritus Robert “Bob” Woolfolk, at a Love Musical Gala honoring their decades of service, leadership, and devotion to the community. Pastor Woolfolk has devoted nearly five decades to ministry, mentorship, and community leadership in Denver and beyond. As Pastor Emeritus of Agape Christian Church and a longtime educator and mentor at Denver Seminary, he has guided generations of leaders in faith and service. His vision helped establish lasting ministries, missions abroad, and community programs that continue to strengthen families and neighborhoods.

As we honor their extraordinary legacy, we are delighted to welcome Mrs. Sharon Battle as our new Executive Director. Mrs. Battle brings a deep commitment to faith-rooted organizing, justice reform, and neighbor-to-neighbor support. Building upon the foundation laid by the Woolfolk's, she continues the mission to transform lives and uplift the community through service, faith, and love.

Sharon Battle is a mother, dedicated community advocate, nonprofit founder, and veteran committed to transforming lives through faith-rooted organizing, justice reform, and neighbor-to-neighbor support. As Executive Director and Founder of I Need You, a Colorado nonprofit, she leads a volunteer-driven model that supports individuals and families navigating the justice system—from arrest through court—by offering presence, advocacy, and practical aid.

Sharon is a proud mother of eight children, two of which are in college, and has been happily married to Pastor Charles Battle for nearly 30 years. Her unwavering faith, and family inspire her every step.

She also serves as Board President of Together Colorado, a statewide network of over 220 congregations organizing for human dignity and justice.

Sharon’s achievements don’t end there. In addition to being a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during Desert Storm, Sharon has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education. She directed youth leadership programs and is licensed in Life and Health Insurance in Colorado.

The catalyst to Sharon’s community work was her son’s traumatic experience. When her son was wrongfully arrested through a Show Up, her community mobilized to support her family, ultimately leading to dropped charges and policy change across Colorado. That journey ignited Sharon’s mission to ensure no family walks that path alone. To learn more about the work Sharon does and receive her help, visit Need-you.org.
